The JaguarForumsUK Newsletter (October 2022)

Welcome to our October 2022 Newsletter.

A lot has been going on, both on and offline, in the past month or so and we would love to bring you up to date with everything that is going on here. So grab yourself a comfy cushion, a big cup of coffee or tea and settle down for our October 2022 Newsletter.

Last months newsletter (September 2022) did not make it as far as press, out of respect for UK events. However we are back on form this month and full of the months news around our event and membership.

We have all been aware of Jaguar's silence regarding their development work on planned new models, and their electrification, however they have broken their silence to give us the sad, but inevitable news, about the demise of the incredible F-Type, in 2023.

On the flip side, for those of you lucky enough to own an F-Type, we sense that the value of the F-Type will soar in value over the next few years with opportunities to buy new dwindling fast

Moving away from Jaguar news we are pleased to be able to announce that the XKEC & F-TypeEC clubs have just signed up with us for 2023, planning to introduce more of their members than ever to our annual event. We are hoping to not only increase the number of attending Jaguars, but also club and organisation involvement for our ten year event, so if your club or organisation is not yet involved please encourage them to get in touch.

As for competition news, due to last months events in the UK we have extended our current competition, a chance to win our review copy of the Curved Road by one of our event team members, the incredible Peter Simpson, to now have a closing date of 30th November 2022. Full details of this can be found further down this months newsletter.

Jaguar Breakfast Club News

As winter approaches and dedicated Jaguar events become infrequent, the Jaguar Breakfast Club at the British Motor Museum continues with constant enthusiasm, taking place on the first Saturday of every month from 9.30am. Perhaps it is because there is so little else going during the dark months that the numbers attending remain healthy throughout, with gatherings even in January attracting up to two hundred Jaguars!

Whether you bring a classic or a modern, a show queen or a dirty daily driver, there is a warm welcome awaiting from your fellow Jaguar owners in the winter sunshine!

Keep up to date with these events at the dedicated website: www.jaguarbreakfastclub.org.uk

And even when the skies aren’t blue the Jaguars make up for that!

Modified Jaguars

After the success of supercharged Saturday this year it seems to have opened the eyes of the Jaguar stalwarts that there is a market for modified cars.

Supercharged Saturday was one of JBC's biggest events this year and was very well received.

Supercharged Saturday will be on June 3rd 2023.

Times do seem to be changing . No more of the “that isn’t the correct bolt “

You will find that most who modify their cars spend way more on their cars than purists.

We may not like what some have done but do we need to say so ?

I travel about to shows a lot with David Williams of RatCat fame. Purists dislike his car but they all still flock to see it.

We can have 25 XJR6's in a group and more time is spent around his car than any other. Hopefully the change at shows will encourage more Jaguar modifiers to bring their cars .

I remember when I had my previous Jag going to shows and not being well received , but now is our time to shine.

Please, all modified car owners bring your cars to JaguarForumsUK meets and JBC where I can assure you they will be welcomed and well received.

Photographs of your Jaguar - the perfect gift

We are proud to have Liam Gellett on the JaguarForumsUK Event Team, as our official event photographer.

Liams work is not only available in our online gallery but available to purchase too.

Photos make great gifts, and in purchasing you will also be helping us retain his services for next year.

Liam has released all his shots to us, to use in our new look Event Gallery giving you great access to his work online, and enabling you to see which image(s) you would like.

Did you know that we now have 100's of images from our events available on our website, easy to view individually, or as a slide show that runs in a browser on your computer or phone?

You can 'like' photo's, leave comments and so much more. So why not pop by, and leave comments against the photo's you especially love or pop up some details about YOUR Jaguar for everyone to see?

And any images you love, just drop a line to Liam and order a copy to own.

Our Highlight of the Month

We would like to highlight independents that we have tried, and trust, with our own Jaguars - supplying maintenance, repairs, and components matching dealership standards but at a fraction of the cost.

This month we are highlighting one company that we not only know, but have visited and received incredible service from.. see our review at Jag Doctor - JaguarForumsUK.

JagDoctor

JagDoctor became involved with our event relatively recently, supporting all Jaguar models from the X-Type & S-Type forwards offering everything from cambelt changes, to servicing, even gearbox servicing.

JagDoctor offers free advice and support at our events, and not only looks after and services one of our Jaguars, but also our attendees Jaguars.

If you own a modern Jaguar model, we recommend you give them a call on 07985481547 and don't forget to mention we put you in touch.

Competition News

Looking for a great, recommended read for the dark nights ahead? Why not enter our free competition and maybe win our review copy of Peter Simpsons' Curved Road?

To enter this, you need to be registered for our 2023 event (despite our increased costs we are still just £5.00 to Register with!!) and email competition@jaguarforumsuk.com with your Access Pass Number, name, and delivery address.. the email subject should be "November 2022 Competition". If you have not yet registered for our event, which enables you to enter all our competitions right through to our 2023 event you can still do so, and then enter our competition at 2023 Event Registration. Incredible inflation beating value.

Finally, those of you who have followed us through the years will likely be aware that our 2022 event was our eleventh event, and our ninth year of running.

This means that our 2023 Great Day Out is our TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY event!!

Places are going to be in demand and limited so we recommend booking early for this event.. don't forget if, closer to the time you find you cannot make the event you can always request a refund, or for your booking to be moved forward to the following event - this is our way of guaranteeing your booking and ensuring you don't lose out should your circumstances change.

We are looking for guest writers, maybe writing about your club, organisation, or maybe a Jaguar renovation you are working on. Please get in touch with us, we, and our membership would love to hear from you. If you can do this, you will receive full credit in our newsletters, and be a big part of the JaguarForumsUK story as we move forward.

Our event team is currently collating ideas on what we can do to make our 2023 event even more special for everyone so if you have any thoughts or ideas, or are happy to write for our Newsletter please email us at event.ideas@jaguarforumsuk.com and we will add them to the ideas we have so far.

OK, that is it for this months newsletter - we really hope that you like the fresh new format and look, and that we have not overloaded you too much :-)
