The JaguarForumsUK Newsletter (January 2023)

Welcome to our January 2023 Newsletter.

Welcome to our first newsletter of 2023. This months newsletter includes an article from a member new to writing for our newsletter - Janette Brook, please join me in making her welcome, plus the latest on JLR's return to profit, our now popular laminated pass registrations, and general event news.

This year is our tenth year of running the Great British Day Out, and not only are we opening more slots for everyone, making it easier than ever for everyone to attend, but we are focussing on diversity and will be encouraging more knowledge and involvement with the modified, and customised sectors of Jaguar ownership, connecting you with suppliers and specialists as well as as many incredible Jaguars as we can, each with it's own story and history.

Website speed improvements

We are pleased to be able to tell you that our website is now back to running close to it's pre-Christmas speed as the amount of hacking attempts has started to ease off. We are also looking at adding a cache to our web server which should speed things up even more for you.

Supercharged Saturday

Supercharged Saturday June 3rd British motor museum Gaydon.

After the success of last years event we are pleased to announce that we will be running this again this year.

We have moved the date to June as many were on their holidays in August. So now those who missed out last year won’t have to this year.

All cars are parked by marque which proves to be a spectacular sight.

All supercharged cars will need book in so we can plan parking areas needed per marque. To book in send an email to info@jaguarbreakfastclub.org.uk   stating name model and year.

The live shows will be running as well. These proved very popular last year. If you have a rare or highly modified supercharged jaguar please contact me on Facebook for consideration.

All jaguars are welcome . If your car is normally aspirated you don’t need to book in.

Last year we had over 300 supercharged cars . This year we believe it’ll be bigger still.

Don't miss out on a fabulous day out with lots of stunning cars on show, and lots of noise.

Guest Writer Slot

We want to encourage everyone to see this newsletter, as theirs, and are constantly looking for guest writers. Do you have something you would love to share with our subscribers? It can be anything Jaguar related from opinion pieces, to guides, historical or personal. Just email any articles to us at JaguarForumsUK and we will not only publish your articles, but make sure you are credited.

This months Guest writer is Janette Brook. Here is her article for this months newsletter...

Having loved Jaguar since childhood I decided to plunge for the icon that is the XFRS.

I like to go for the biggest and the best and the XFRS is certainly that.

But was it enough,?

As standard it has 5.0 engine, with 550 bhp, but with a remap I knew I could get more, so off I went to Team Hard and my little baby came back with 600+bhp, after that I upgraded the brakes, well if your going faster, you need to stop faster! On the power, there is more to come! Watch this space.

On the outside you would never know, and mere mortals occasionally want a race, I’m sure they like the look of my rear spoiler, they rarely win.

To drive everyday it’s a mere pussy cat, but I know I have the power, and later this month I will have more, with a throttle upgrade.

So I really now do think I have one of the fastest road versions of the standard XFRS and I look forward to seeing you all at the meets this year.

JLR returns to profit in 2023

Jaguar may be in deep slumber, externally at least, whilst it ponders on the best way forward for the brand, but JLR as a whole has finally turned the corner and is back in profit for the first time since pre-pandemic.

The group made a loss of over £9 million last year, but has already managed a profit of over £265 million in the last quarter.

The turnaround in the groups finances has been down to new models of Range Rovers, plus the start of an improved flow of the vital components they need in order to be able to complete manufacturing.

This is quite a turnaround for the books, as prior to JLR optimising their designs of Range Rovers, it was the Jaguar brand that carried them.

We await in anticipation for the news that Jaguar is back on the leading edge of luxury cars, but for the moment at least all we can do is wait.

New partnerships for our event

We have connected with Wraptor Customs, Tuning & Wraps, and we are hoping that they will be able to not only introduce you to all the options available to you for your Jaguar, but also bring along the highest bhp F-Type in the world to meet you.

Photographs of your Jaguar - the perfect gift

We are proud to have Liam Gellett on the JaguarForumsUK Event Team, as our official event photographer.

Liams work is not only available in our online gallery but available to purchase too.

Photos make great gifts, and in purchasing you will also be helping us retain his services for next year.

Liam has released all his shots to us, to use in our new look Event Gallery giving you great access to his work online, and enabling you to see which image(s) you would like.

Did you know that we now have 100's of images from our events available on our website, easy to view individually, or as a slide show that runs in a browser on your computer or phone?

You can 'like' photo's, leave comments and so much more. So why not pop by, and leave comments against the photo's you especially love or pop up some details about YOUR Jaguar for everyone to see?

And any images you love, just drop a line to Liam and order a copy to own.

Laminated Access Passes

Further to a number of requests we can now supply laminated Access Passes - offering a full size laminated pass for your Jaguar, plus a small keepsake version, also laminated for you.

On our website please pick the 'laminated pass' registration link if you would like to take advantage of this. The price is slightly higher than registering for an Access Pass to be emailed to you, and in truth we actually make less towards our costs, but it is a great option as you do not need to worry about printing, and you even get a keepsake version of your Access Pass too.

Finally, those of you who have followed us through the years will likely be aware that our 2022 event was our eleventh event, and our ninth year of running.

This means that our 2023 Great Day Out is our TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY event!!

Places are going to be in demand and limited so we recommend booking early for this event.. don't forget if, closer to the time you find you cannot make the event you can always request a refund, or for your booking to be moved forward to the following event - this is our way of guaranteeing your booking and ensuring you don't lose out should your circumstances change.

We are looking for guest writers, maybe writing about your club, organisation, or maybe a Jaguar renovation you are working on. Please get in touch with us, we, and our membership would love to hear from you. If you can do this, you will receive full credit in our newsletters, and be a big part of the JaguarForumsUK story as we move forward.

Our event team is currently collating ideas on what we can do to make our 2023 event even more special for everyone so if you have any thoughts or ideas, or are happy to write for our Newsletter please email us at event.ideas@jaguarforumsuk.com and we will add them to the ideas we have so far.

OK, that is it for this months newsletter - we really hope that you like the fresh new format and look, and that we have not overloaded you too much :-)
