Welcome to our April 2023 Newsletter.
Welcome to our pre-event newsletter - in this newsletter we have all the news about our upcoming event, what class awards you are in with a chance of winning, news about our prize draw, discounts and more. I suggest you pour yourself that mug of tea (or coffee) you were thinking of, and settle down to catch up with everything about JaguarForumsUK and our upcoming event. |

This year is our tenth year of running the Great British Day Out, and not only are we opening more slots for everyone, making it easier than ever for everyone to attend, but we are focussing on diversity and will be encouraging more knowledge and involvement with the modified, and customised sectors of Jaguar ownership, connecting you with suppliers and specialists as well as as many incredible Jaguars as we can, each with it's own story and history. |

Our website has been turbo-charged
Not quite the same as those of you with the more powerful Jaguars (yep, that definitely does not include mine lol) but we have spent a long time working on our website, and where you may not notice any immediate changes, we have halved the speed for loading pages, are steadily working our way up the Google rankings to be more visible, and have complied with Googles requests regarding registering our emails as not spam.
Additionally we have implemented new security systems further to a huge number of attacks via the dark web resulting in us being locked out of our own website for an hour or so.
All of this to give you the best possible, and safe experience on our event website. We hope you notice the improvements. |

Does it need a wizard to keep Jaguar paintwork scratch free?
No, but a “wizzard product” (The Scratchshield) can help! Scratches, swirls and holograms can be unsightly and often appear in your paintwork, but there is a simple way to help prevent unwanted scratches during the washing process. Daily driver, or weekend toy, your Jaguar is often one of the biggest investments you will make, so you may have many different motivating factors for keeping it clean and scratch free.
The Scratchshield is a simple but effective bucket filter, it sits at the bottom of your bucket and creates a protective barrier, to stop your wash mitt picking up debris and wiping back over the paintwork of your vehicle and preventing scratches and swirls.
For those wanting to explore further, Scratchshield offer a “free guide to scratch free car washing” on their website www.scratchshield.co.uk, you don’t even need to subscribe or put in an email address, it’s available for everyone to access.
For an extra safe wash, Wizzard products have also just released “The Grit Magnet” a Scratchshield with a built in magnet, guaranteed to collect up to 25% more of the ferritic particles in your bucket. The Scratchshield is made in Britain, something wizard Products are proud of!
Added bonus for members of the “JaguarForums Great British Day Out”, you can have 20% discount off everything at www.scratchshield.co.uk.
Use discount code “JF23” (valid until June 15th 2023) |

Charity Support
We not only support the Jaguar community, but also the wider community. This year we are supporting the Chestnut Tree House Hospice for children, and their families.
Chestnut Tree House do incredible work, and not only do your 'on the day' registrations go to our collection for them, but also everything we collect from the prize draw on the day itself, PLUS my daytime employer, Signia Hearing will double our collection by a maximum of £250 too.. everything going to help Chestnut Tree House with the incredible work they do for children.
You can donate, if you would like to before the event just by clicking on the image below - Thankyou. |

Modified Jaguars, tuning and more! by Dud Ginn at Wraptor Customs
“Perfect as it is from factory” I hear you say...
Having worked at JLR helping build the first edition vehicles, prototypes, movie cars, show cars and other rather special vehicles. I would actually disagree with the above quote. You see, there are so many things that govern, legislate and restrict what vehicle manufacturers can deliver for us to buy. Such as budget, emissions, taxes, variable laws around the globe and more. This is why cars can change considerably from initial design.
But as vehicle owners, we just have to make sure the vehicle is safe, insured and will pass an MOT. Apart from that, lets get maximum enjoyment from our Jags! We have the opportunity to customise our vehicle in so many ways, such as increasing engine performance, handling and braking, aesthetic enhancements, give them some more Jaguar exhaust roar, the list goes on.
Much like in the USA, the modified car scene is becoming very present in the UK.
I try to encourage acceptance of good quality professionally installed modifications, whilst supporting others of theirs.
Now owning my own vehicle customisation and maintenance workshop. I have less restrictions than when I worked for JLR, allowing me to offer full vehicle customisation. In fact I am proud to have engineered and developed various popular upgrades and enhancements for primarily the Jaguar cars.
Some owners may be purists and prefer a standard spec vehicle. But believe me, if you turn that key and the car sounds more awesome than it did before, or you drive it and now the steering responds better than ever, or (and this is my favourite) you cant stop keep looking at the car because you've created something unique yet stunning, it'll make you smile. |

Event Timings Change
For our ten year event we have adjusted the timings for the day, and event registration is now between 8:30 and 9:30am on the day, at Pease Pottage Services, in the car park. Please note the full itinerary can be found here.. |
| |
New 'On the Day' Policy
We have a new policy in place this year regarding Jaguars turning up on the day, without pre-registering.
Pre-registering is the best way to not only get a great price on registration but if for any reason you are unable to do so, you can now just turn up on the day itself, but the cost of entry will be £10 and subject to us being able to fit you in. |

Class Awards this year
This year we have reworked our class awards, and how we judge your Jaguar.
The event judges will be viewing all the attending Jaguars between 10:30am and 11:30am, meaning that you know when to look out for the event judges, when to give your Jaguar that last buff up, and get your engine warmed up if you are interested in the Best Exhaust Tone Award.
The class awards this year are:
Best Exhaust Tone Award
Scratchshield Best Turned Out Jaguar Award
Wraptor Best Modified Jaguar
Daily Driver Award
Best Classic Award
Best Jaguar with Potential
Organisers Choice
We feel that this range of class awards gives everyone a good opportunity to prove they have an incredible Jaguar, and you may well be entered for more than one class award by the judges.. |
| |
Our Interactive, fun, Jaguar Trivia Quiz
This year we will be running the interactive, live quiz again - giving YOU a chance to not only prove you are our most knowledgeable attendee, but to earn the right to hold the trophy for a year along with the prestige that comes to you from everyone who knows you, knowing you have proven yourself to be the most knowledgable person we know.. can you win it from our current title holder? |
| |
Laminated Access Passes
Further to a number of requests we can now supply laminated Access Passes - offering a full size laminated pass for your Jaguar, plus a small keepsake version, also laminated for you.
On our website please pick the 'laminated pass' registration link if you would like to take advantage of this. The price is slightly higher than registering for an Access Pass to be emailed to you, and in truth we actually make less towards our costs, but it is a great option as you do not need to worry about printing, and you even get a keepsake version of your Access Pass too. |
